Mobile Massage

Is Mobile Massage Legit?

Therapeutic Massage is a legitimate complementary health modality and a science-based bodywork practice. All Licensed Massage Therapists are schooled, have passed a nationwide knowledge and aptitude test, are insured, have a current CPR and First Aid Training certificate, have been background-checked by the state, and have taken the proper continuing education courses to keep up-to-date with the research and latest news in Massage Therapy. Licensure is done by each state, and there are slightly different requirements for each.

There are many professional organizations that serve Massage Therapists. These professional organizations are much like workers' unions and other trade organizations, and help advocate for LMTs in many ways, bringing the profession forward by promoting ethics, professionalism, and changes in laws that benefit the profession by fostering legitimacy over time.

Is Mobile Massage Booking Legit?

Mobile Massage booking is legitimate, for sure, as long as the company and provider are reputable. With that said, some people do lie about their credentials, and some companies are disreputable.

Always look into a company's history. Remember that a good percentage of on-line reviews are fake.

What Are Some Red Flags Indicating a Mobile Massage Company Is Not Serious?

1. A phone that rings and rings or goes to voice mail.

2. A web site that has a copyright date of 2011 but has only existed since 2024.

3. A boilerplate website that one can buy for $5 on Fiverr.

4. A website that offers services that are not therapeutic in nature.

5. Having 1,263 reviews, all positive, and the company has been around only a month.

6. Having 200 reviews, many five star, but also a significant number that are only one or two stars. This indicates the business may have purchased fake reviews to "balance out" the real (negative) ones.

7. Negative real-life reviews with many details from current and former employees on platforms that collect that sort of data.

8. Customer Service is unreachable, even after a therapist is late.

Remember: An unlicensed person is not insured and cannot legally provide you with Therapeutic Massage. Additionally, there's a lot to know about the body, and the theory and application of massage.

A person without the requisite schooling who hasn't passed the MBLEX national exam is a charlatan if they're offering bodywork, whether mobile or at their location. Stay far away from such people! Imagine an untrained surgeon? The body is the body, and not knowing what needs to be known can be disastrous.

Not only is this against the law, but you could be placing your health in jeopardy. While Therapeutic Massage is generally considered safe in most instances, that is only when provided by a licensed practitioner.

How Do I Know If a Mobile Massage Therapist Is Licensed?

Remember, it's up to YOU to check and be sure your therapist is legit. It does matter. And so, request the license number of the therapist(s) coming to provide Mobile Massage, regardless of the setting or other specifics. This shouldn't be too much trouble for a Mobile massage concierge. You can then look up the therapist's name in the database corresponding to the state that you plan to receive the services in and be certain that they're a real LMT.

Certainly, if you've booked someone billing themselves as a "Mobile Masseuse," don't expect a licensed and legitimate person to arrive. LMT stands for Licensed Massage Therapist. Anyone can call themselves a "Masseuse." To be licensed means something entirely different. In fact, due to the confusion of illicit services using the term "Masseusse," most LMTs abhor the term and would loathe someone referring to them as such.

Why Does It Matter If My Mobile Massage Therapist Is Licensed or Not?

Would you go to a surgeon who doesn't a have a license to practice medicine? While massage is not nearly as invasive as surgery might be, it's still your body, and you don't really want people providing you with health services unless they're qualified to do so. There are too many reasons to mention, but safety is right up there in significance.

Some individuals will represent themselves as LMTs and will even work on others if given the chance.

Is Mobile Massage a Scam?

Mobile Massage is simply ambulatory Therapeutic Massage, medically-defined. That's it. How, then, can Mobile Massage be a scam? It just refers to a set of hands-on modalities done in a place other than a Day Spa or Chiropractic Office or other fixed location. Therapeutic Massage is certainly not a scam, and has more proof of efficacy than chiropractic care or acupuncture.

With that said, anyone can create an ad on CraigsdList offering Mobile Massage services pretending to be a therapist. Before leaving a thousand-dollar-deposit for an tro of LMTs to bring Chair Massage to your upcoming wedding, be sure they are a real company. In every type of business, there is fraud. In such instances as described above, the scammers need to really even be in the business of massage, just people savvy to how to get the better of unsuspecting people.

An event can be quite a sum. Consider six LMTs for five hours: At $150 an hour, that adds up to $4500. See why scammers might be inclined to get involved offering fake Mobile Massage to the unsuspecting?

This platform is dedicated to providing information concerning Mobile Massage.
The motivation for creating this site was witnessing firsthand, as an LMT, how ill-informed the average person was about Mobile Massage.

People seem to have more questions than answers about the topic, and so we have answered the most common questions.

And so, we aim to change that. We will certainly add more pages with Mobile Massage Q&As to provide even greater detail. Thank you!
